About The Grade Administrator
The Grade Administrator is a choose-your-own-adventure game where you step into the muddy boots of a country cricket club administrator. Every decision — from hiring coaches to calming WhatsApp parents — shapes the fate of Oak Hill Cricket Club.
Balance funds, morale, reputation and facilities. Keep the committee patient, the players loyal and the clubrooms funded. Can you win the premiership, build new clubrooms, or pull off the ultimate win and do both?
The Humour
This is a love letter to the beautiful, ridiculous chaos of grassroots cricket. The kind where the coach resigns on a Tuesday, the treasurer wants receipts for a sausage sizzle, and someone is always "five minutes away" from the ground for forty-five minutes.
You will deal with WhatsApp group meltdowns, parents who think their twelve-year-old is ready for A Grade, and a club legend who absolutely did score 147 not out in 1998 and will tell you about it. The game laughs with the sport, not at it — because anyone who has spent a Saturday at a country oval knows the truth: the cricket is only half the battle.
Meet the Club
Oak Hill is full of recurring characters who remember what you did. Back the captain and his useless mate, and the changeroom will never let you forget it. Ignore the curator for too long and the wicket will become a dustbowl. Let Robbo buy one more bat and he might finally average above four.
- Robbo — owns a $1,200 bat and averages 3.4. Has opinions about the batting order.
- Radar Ron — has predicted rain every week since 2011. Occasionally correct.
- Nets Brad — middles everything on a Thursday. Match day average of 8.
- Last Drinks Larry — single-handedly keeps the bar profitable. Every season.
- Steve — averages 14, believes he is being overlooked, and emails on Tuesdays.
- Dimity — junior coordinator. Holds the program together with a laminator and spite.
They are not just flavour text. Their moods shift, their stories branch, and the most aggrieved among them will be the one knocking on your door next.
Built with club chaos in mind — because I've experienced it first hand - Alex.
